1/ Tesla has achieved a game-changing breakthrough in car manufacturing, akin to the making of Hot Wheels toy cars in a single piece. With their Gigapress technology and innovations in material science and 3D printing, Tesla has revolutionised how electric vehicles are built, paving the way for cost-effective, efficient, and groundbreaking automobile production.


2/ In one of its recent developments, Tesla has achieved to die cast nearly all the complex underbody of an EV in one piece.


2/ The use of huge presses with 6,000 to 9,000 tons of clamping pressure to mould Model Y's front and rear structures has slashed production costs.


3/ With the unveiling of this revolutionary casting machine, Tesla is set to bring us closer to Elon Musk's vision of "the machine that builds the machine", by drastically reducing production costs, operation expenses, and manufacturing complexity,



-> The Impact: At its Shanghai plant, Tesla's biggest plant worldwide, the company has been die-casting the rear of the Model Y since 2020, which allowed it to cut related costs by a whopping 40%.
